Sierra Ridge Academy hosted the 10th annual RAM Bowl Friday, September 16th, at 1:30PM at the Sierra Ridge Campus.. RAM BOWL tradition dates back to 2002 when Ridge View Academy (Colorado) played Silver State Academy (Nevada) in what is recognized as the first RAM BOWL. Silver State Academy, coached by Mark Jacoby, won a thriller 26-23.

The 2003 RAM BOWL was played on McKenry Field at Silver State Academy. Mark Jacoby coached the RAMS to a lopsided 32-7 victory over Ridge View. The following year, the SSA RAMS traveled to Ridge View Academy and endured a 38-0 shellacking from the Colorado Academy.

In 2005, Canyon State Academy (Arizona) hosted Sierra Ridge (California). This was one of the more interesting Ram Bowl games because Canyon State played 8-man football and Sierra Ridge played 11-man football. Both defenses adjusted as did the officials and a fun game ensued. CSA came out the winner in a wild scoring but close contest.

SSA hosted Western Region rival Sierra Ridge Academy in 2006 winning 42-0 and followed that up with its first Nevada State Championship. The 2007 RAM BOWL was hosted by Canyon State. CSA, in 110 degree heat, totally dominated SSA, 22-8.

2008 began a run of “Western Region RAM Bowls”. Silver State Academy hosted sierra Ridge and a close contest ensued with Silver State on top, 44-34.
Sierra Ridge hosted the 8th RAM BOWL in 2009 as part of Rite of Passage’s 25 year celebration. This celebrated, as well, the first football game to be played on the Sierra Ridge ‘Mountaintop’ facility. Silver State Academy came away with a lopsided 49-6 victory.

The 9th annual RAM BOWL was hosted at Silver State Academy. Coach Jerry Grimshaw’s RAMS took charge early racing to a 42-6 halftime lead over Sierra Ridge, before winning 49-12.

This year, as a prelim to the 10th RAM BOWL, SRA also hosted a Western Region Soccer and Cross Country Championship on Wednesday, September 14th.

Head football Coaches Rich Martinez, SSA, and Jesus Tapia, SRA, directed their respective teams toward victory in the 10th RAM BOWL hosted at Sierra Ridge Academy on Friday, September 16th at 1:30 PM. The end result was SSA 21 SRA 0 closing another annual Rams Bowl.

All participants were winners for having been involved in this event.
